Calathea Medallion Roseo

You may have heard calatheas referred to as prayer plants, it won’t take long to figure out why. These plants love to elegantly dance all day and fold upward at night like praying hands. Their leaves are known for their gorgeous design which makes them look almost hand painted. In the evening you can see the beautiful underside dashed with vibrant colors. They thrive in medium to bright, indirect light. Be mindful that they are sensitive to burning so be sure to pick a place you can enjoy watching this plant move that isn’t in direct sun. You’ll want to water thoroughly then wait until the top 3 cm of soil dries out before watering again. Depending on the humidity in your home, this will probably be every 7-10 days. Your calathea will let you know if you’re over watering by wilting. The leaves will turn brown around the edges if it has gone too long between waterings. If you’re living in a dry environment, you may need to mist the leaves a couple times a week to mimic the humidity it likes.
