Jade

Jade plants are common gifts not only for their beautiful fleshy leaves that shine year round, but they are very easy to care for. Their association with ‘luck’ make them a symbolic gift of well wishes. They prefer bright indirect light and only need watered when the soil is dry every couple weeks during the growing months. In fall and winter, you can go to watering monthly. If leaves start to fall off, evaluate your watering habits and drainage, as this could be a sign of either over or under watering. If leaves are shriveling, the soil is too dry, if they pop off in full, the soil may be too wet. Healthy leaves can actually be used to propagate new plants by putting them in rich soil and allowing roots to establish.
